Ogle this gobsmacking picture of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia

Henry Cavill has played surly monster hunter Geralt of Rivia for the first two seasons of The Witcher on Netflix, with a third season due out this year. Cavill will return as Geralt for the new season, but after that, he’s one. Starting in season 4, the part will be played by Hunger Games veteran Liam Hemsworth.

We were all shocked when he heard this news. Cavill is the frontman for the show, and if we’re honest, far and away the best thing about it. It’s not 100% clear why Cavill chose to leave, although we have our ideas. But whatever the reasons, losing him could really hurt the series.

Then again, Liam Hemsworth is also a talented actor and we’re looking forward to seeing what he brings to the table as Geralt. That starts with the look. Happily, artist 83pixelstudios has already imagined what Hemsworth could look like under Geralt’s signature white wig.

Cavill’s last ride as Geralt begins later this year. We probably won’t see what Hemsworth looks like in the role for a good while after.
