Watch the trailer for Foundation season 2 on Apple TV+
By Dan Selcke
2023 is coming, and with it, lotsa new movies and TV. Today we bring you trailers for the far reaches of the galaxy, starting with one for the second season of Foundation on Apple TV+. Watch below:
Foundation is Apple’s ambitious adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s seminal sci-fi novels about a group of people trying to rebuild civilization amidst the collapse of a galactic empire ruled over by the clone emperor Cleon (Lee Pace).
This is tricky material. The Foundation books are more concerned with ideas than characters and take place over vast swaths of time. Can Apple TV+ wrestle this story into an entertaining TV show? Reviews on the first season were mixed. We’ll see how they manage when season 2 premieres this summer.
Watch the trailer for The Ark on SyFy
SyFy is giving us something a little more traditional with The Ark, which comes to us from a couple of the guys behind Stargate SG-1. Earth is dying. Remnants of humanity board a spaceship and leave to search for a new home. There’s an accident on the way and many passengers die, including the people in charge. What are the remnants of the remnants to do? Get a sneak preview in the trailer below:
The Ark premieres on February 1.
Watch the trailer for Evil Dead Rise
And now for something completely different: there’s a new Evil Dead movie coming out this year called Evil Dead Rise. Franchise creator Sam Raimi isn’t directing this one, although he is an executive producer. And writer-director Lee Cronin seems to have fully embraced the Evil Dead aesthetic. This looks creepy:
Evil Dead Rise drops into theaters on April 21.
Watch the trailer for Renfield, starring Nicolas Cage as Dracula
Speaking of horror movies (well, horror adjacent) coming out in April, we have a new trailer for Renfield, a movie about the hapless familiar Renfield, who works for none other than Count Dracula.
Oh, and Dracula is played by Nicolas Damn Cage, which is reason enough to be interested.
This feels a lot like What We Do In The Shadows, except that freaking Nicolas Cage is playing Dracula. Renfield comes out in theaters on April 14.
