Roll for initiative: What can we expect from Vox Machina season 2?
It is now January 2023, which means we only a couple more weeks to wait until the second season of Vox Machina drops on Amazon Prime. The animated series brought life to a Dungeons and Dragon campaign played by, as they like to say, a bunch of nerdy voice actors on a weekly stream called Critical Role. Matthew Mercer, the iconic Dungeon Master, creates an epic fantasy world where big-time voice actors Ashley Johnson (Pike Trickfoot), Laura Bailey (Vex-ahlia) , Marisha Kay (Keyleth), Travis Willingham (Grog Strongjaw), Liam O’Brien (Vax’ildan), Sam Riegel (Scanlan Shorthalt), and Taliesin Jaffe (Percival de Rolo) play as an unlikely band of heroes trying to save the world from doom.
Season 1 left us wanting more after watching an intense confrontation between Vox Machina and the vampires Delilah and Sylas Briarwood, who were responsible not only killing Percival’s family but also unleashing an evil throughout the world of Exandria: the Whispering One, an evil lich. In Dungeon & Dragons lore, he goes by the name Vecna, a name that has been made popular recently thanks to Netflix’s mega-hit show Stranger Things.
What can we expect from Vox Machina season 2?
With no spoilers, all that can be said is that this next season will heavily feature dragons. Our heroes will meet the Chroma Conclave, an alliance of five extremely dangerous chromatic dragons. We can also expect more character development and hilarious dialogue, as those are fan favorite aspects of the campaign.
Season 2 will have a total of 12 episodes. The first three episodes will drop on January 20, followed by three more on January 27, three more on February 3, and the last three on February 10.
