Trailer: Kit Harington is a new dad in horror film Baby Ruby

Parenting is hard. There’s the crying and the latenight feedings and the fun bathroom adventures. And that’s all with a normal baby, to say nothing about raising some kind of demon child.

To be fair, that’s not exactly what’s happening in the trailer for the new horror movie Baby Ruby, below…or is it? The upcoming film from Bess Wohl revolves around a new mother, Jo (Noémie Merlant), as she experiences strange things following the birth of her daughter. Is something wrong with her? Is something wrong with Ruby? Why are all the neighborhood moms so desperate to befriend her?

Game of Thrones veteran Kit Harington plays the father, who doesn’t seem to be having the same harrowing experiences as his partner. Is he in on the conspiracy? WHAT ARE YOU HIDING, JON SNOW?

Per Indiewire, Harington was interested in the script in part because, as a new father himself, he appreciated how the script tapped into the “disorientation of parenting a young child.”

"I felt very drawn to it for those reasons. I like a film that’s not one genre, that’s a mix of things, you can’t really place it. I felt like this was one of those."

Baby Ruby is out in theaters and on VOD on February 3.
