When last we left The Mandalorian, Din Djarin and Grogu, aka Baby Yoda, had parted ways, with Din Djarin heading to his home planet of Mandalore while Baby Yoda went off with none other than Luke Skywalker to train to use the Force.

That was at the end of The Mandalorian season 2. However, that wasn’t where the story ended. Both Din Djarin and Grogu showed up in the show The Book of Boba Fett, which wrapped up on Disney+ in early 2022. In that series, Grogu opted to stop training with Luke to go rejoin his father figure Din Djarin. Last we left them, Din was going to train his young charge in the ways of the Mandalorians.

Was it lame to continue the stories of these two popular characters in a show that ostensibly had nothing to do with them? Well…yes. But at least you’re caught up. And that brings us to the newly released trailer for The Mandalorian season 3:

Mando and Baby Yoda are back together in The Mandalorian season 3

The Mandalorian was always a good-looking show, but season 3 seems to up the ante. In that trailer we see spaceship chases, a group of Mandalorians dropping out of the sky, and a group of people with lightsabers. I wonder what that’s about.

Most likely, this season will start to tie The Mandalorian into a wider story that Disney intends to tell across a number of shows, including the upcoming Ahsoka series. Although we’ll still get to spend plenty of time with Mando and Baby Yoda.

The Mandalorian season 3 will premiere on March 1 on Disney+.
