Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie on the new HBO series The Last of Us, had her breakout role on Game of Thrones as Lyanna Mormont, the fierce leader of Bear Island. Lyanna met her end in the final season of the show, killed by a zombie giant she managed to take down with her.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Ramsey reminisced about filming this scene. “I enjoyed it! I had a wonderful time,” she said. “There’s like a giant robotic claw, and a green screen. It’s programmed to shake me around. I was like 20 feet up in the air, they had to like throw the blood up to me so I did it myself.”
Bella Ramsey thought the Game of Thrones series finale was “fine”
Ramsey was 11 years old when she first appeared on Game of Thrones and had never heard of the show prior to being cast. Pedro Pascal, Ramsey’s costar in The Last of Us, also appeared on Game of Thrones, as the dashing Dornishman Oberyn Martell. His character also died brutally, a couple seasons before Lyanna Mormont was introduced.
Although she only appeared in three seasons of Game of Thrones, Ramsey said that fans approach her and ask her opinion about the controversial series finale. “People like to ask me what I thought of the ending, and I like to ask them back ‘what did you think of it,'” Ramsey said. “I saw it, but I haven’t seen the rest of the show. Generally, the consensus is that it wasn’t great, but is seemed fine to me!”
The Last of Us airs new episodes every Sunday on HBO and HBO Max. Fans may have some new questions to ask Ramsey now.
