If you’re unfamiliar with Critical Role, it started as a group of voice actors in LA who got together every once in a while to play Dungeons & Dragons. They started live-streaming their adventures, which got popular and eventually spun off into comic books, novels, collectibles, live events, and finally an animated TV series called The Legend of Vox Machina, which is airing its second season right now on Amazon Prime Video.

The Vox Machina campaign ran from 2015-17. After that, the Critical Role team dropped their old characters and started off on a new adventure: the Mighty Nein campaign lasted from 2018 through 2021. And based on my extremely unscientific survey (e.g. I asked someone I know who watches Critical Role), the Mighty Nein campaign is more entertaining than Vox Machina.

So it’s good news that Amazon is adapting that campaign too! They announced it in a video the other day:

After The Legend of Vox Machina, Amazon will adapt Mighty Nein

The Mighty Nein show will be animated by Titmouse, the same folks behind Vox Machina. Amazon Studios is also involved, as is Metapigeon, Critical Role’s production banner. According to a statement from the companies, they look forward to working on “on a new slate of projects, both in and outside of the Critical Role universe.” So there could be other shows coming as part of this overall deal.

News like this really makes you want to livestream your hobbies in hopes of getting some Amazon money, doesn’t it? Anyway, we don’t know when the Mighty Nein show will come out, but new episodes of The Legend of Vox Machina drop tomorrow:

Next. Let’s recap and review the first 3 episodes of Vox Machina season 2. dark
