Pedro Pascal is one of the biggest stars working on TV today. Right now, he’s starring as Joel in The Last of Us, a hugely successful new series on HBO. In March, he’ll return as the title character in the third season of The Mandalorian, a hugely successful show on HBO Max. And let’s not forget his breakout role as Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones, his starring role in the Netflix series Narcos, his role as a villain in Wonder Woman 1984, his turn alongside Nicolas Cage in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and much more. Guy is killing it.

Naturally, this has led a lot of people to ask questions about his personal life. Namely: is he married? So far as anybody can tell, the answer is no. According to Suggest, there’s no public documentation that suggests he’s tied the knot.

That’s not a sure thing, mind you; it’s possible Pascal just keeps his private life very private, but it looks to all the world like the 47-year-old star is single, although he has been romantically linked to people in the past.

Pedro Pascal relationship history

One of the earliest relationships Pascal is reported to have had is with Orange Is The New Black star Maria Dizzia. Several sources report that the two met on the set of Law & Order in the 1990s…although that seems unlikely, since neither of them appeared on a Law & Order until series until 2006. More likely, they met on the set of Law & Order in 2008, when they both appeared in the episode “Tango.” That would also line up with reports that the relationship, if it happened at all, ended in 2011.

Pascal has also been romantically linked to several other people, although in all of these cases, there’s good evidence that they were just friends. For instance, at times rumors have swirled that he was dating actor Sarah Paulson, with whom he sometimes showed up with to red carpet events. In reality, it looks like the two have just been friends since they met in New York City as teenagers. Paulson is currently with her partner Holland Taylor.

Pascal was also linked to his Game of Thrones costar Lena Headey, who played Cersei Lannister. They were seen hanging out a lot in 2014, when season 4 of Game of Thrones (the one Pascal is in) was airing. There were even rumors that Pascal might have been the father of Headey’s second child, who was born in 2015. But she later revealed that the father was Dan Cadan, her current husband.

Is Pedro Pascal bi?

There have also been rumors that Pascal is gay or bisexual, perhaps helped along by the fact that his Game of Thrones characters was openly and proudly bi.

In particular, Pascal has occasionally been linked to fellow citizen of the Star Wars universe Oscar Isaac, whom he met while doing a play in 2005. The two helped each other with their early acting careers and have remained close, but there’s no real evidence they’re anything other than good friends. Incidentally, Isaac married Elvira Lind in 2017.

Pascal does seem comfortable with the LGBQIA+ community. Speaking to the Los Angeles Times in 2017, he commented on a Reddit group seemingly comprised of straight men who declared themselves “Gay for Oberyn”:

"It’s so wonderful. I think it’s all a spectrum, right? Straight men can have—do have—crushes on other men. It doesn’t make them gay, it doesn’t make them bi. I was super-flattered. The guys that picked on me in middle school in Corona del Mar probably have a crush on me now. Maybe they had a crush on me then and that’s why they picked on me."

It may help that Pedro has a sister, Lux Pascal, who is a transgender woman.

Ultimately, until Pascal tells the world different, we’ll assume he’s single.
