In the back half of the first season of House of the Dragon, we were introduced to Jacaerys Velaryon, the eldest son of Rhaenyra Targaryen and Harwin Strong Laenor Velaryon. He was played by Leo Hart for the first couple episodes before the story jumped forward a few years and the role was taken over by Harry Collett.

Collett will likely play Jace for the rest of the show. He’s a talented actor and immediately made a good impression, although there is one thing the internet noticed about him: he tends to slouch a bit, with his head hanging low on his neck:

Collett knows that people are poking fun at his posture. Going live with his fans recently, he promised that things will improve for season 2. “I think it’s looking alright,” he said. I’m working on it, alright? I’ve worked on it. It’s gonna be better next season, alright?”

"Good news: Jace’s posture will be fixed from HouseOfTheDragon"

House of the Dragon star Harry Collett is “working on” his posture for season 2

Honestly, this is one of those things that the audience at large probably never would have noticed if we didn’t have the internet and fans didn’t spread still images of Collett slouching all over Twitter. I definitely didn’t notice anything when watching the episodes live. How about you?

In any case, we’ll see how upright Jace looks when House of the Dragon season 2 premieres on HBO and HBO Max in 2024.
