The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2 is not coming out in February 2023
By WiC Staff
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is the most expensive show in the history of television, all of possible thanks to the bottomless of financing available to Amazon Studios; when you’re an offshoot of the service that everyone around the world uses to buy everything, money isn’t an issue.
The show is set during the Second Age of Middle-earth, thousands of years before The Lord of the Rings saga most people know. The first season followed a variety of characters, some of whom audiences already knew (Galadriel, Elrond) and some they didn’t (Arondir, Nori). Overall, the series got a mixed reception from fans.
But Amazon is coming back to give it another go! But we won’t see the fruits of their labor for a while yet. The second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power most definitely will not come out in February on 2023. Odds are we won’t see it until sometime in 2024.
Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy is not on Netflix!
Happily, fans can get their Middle-earth fix elsewhere while they wait! The Rings of Power season 2 may not be out for a while yet, but Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy recently came to Netflix! You can watch The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King right now with your Netflix subscription, assuming you have one.
And let’s be honest: considering the iffy start that The Rings of Power had, you may just be better off rewatching the 2000s-era trilogy again.
Also, Amazon will be airing a second season of The Wheel of Time later this year. So they will be giving us more fantasy TV in 2023, just not more The Rings of Power.
