Norman Reedus is getting his very own Walking Dead spinoff! The Walking Dead series finale found many of the characters going their own ways, including Daryl. The new show will find his character Daryl Dixon fighting zombies in France for reasons unknown. Is there a connection to the CRM? Is Rick involved? Hopefully we’ll get the answers to all these questions and more. For now, let’s talk more about the potential title, Reedus has been hinting at on his Instagram.

Specifically, Reedus shared a behind-the-scenes image of a bunch of makeup boxes marked with the title “Raise the Dead.” We don’t know if this is official, but it’s the biggest clue we have. If this is indeed the name, I am so excited because it sounds epic as hell, and absolutely fitting for a Daryl Dixon spinoff series.

While on Jimmy Kimmel Live! back in October, Reedus spoke about the series title. “I’m pushing for a title, but I don’t think it has an official title yet,” Reedus said. “There’s a title that I want. To find a title is insane, because there’s thousands and thousands of the most ridiculous choices you have to choose from.”

"I’m hoping for a certain title. Let’s just think about it. She-Hulk is She-Hulk. Spider-Man’s Spider-Man. Batman’s Batman. So, why not this be, ‘boom boom’? You know what I mean? You see where I’m going with that, without me saying that?"

Sure we do, Norman, sure we do.

What is Norman Reedus’ Walking Dead spinoff about?

So far, The Walking Dead producers have been pretty creative when it comes to titles. Let’s see, we’ve got Fear The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Tales of the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: Dead City (the original title was way better: Isle of the Dead).

While the title of Reedus’ spinoff is still in flux, we do know a bit about the show itself. It’ll follow Daryl Dixon after the events of The Walking Dead series finale. If you recall, Daryl rode off into the sunset on his motorcycle, and apparently ended up in France.

Daryl will be meeting all sorts of folks during his Parisian adventures, including Isabelle (Clémence Poésy), a member of a progressive religious group who has a dark past; and Quinn (Adam Nagaitis), the owner of a sexy underground night club and black marketeer.

Reedus spoke to ComicBook.com about the tone of his series versus the flagship show. “There was a part of [the series finale] where I smiled a little bit, and that tone kind of makes it into the spin-off a little bit,” he shared. “And then it goes horribly wrong, like everything on The Walking Dead. It kind of felt like I was going to see what’s new out in the world, you know what I mean? Everybody was safe, and I was gonna go see what’s out there.”

"The tone is much different, the [cinematography is] much different. The lighting’s different. We’re in castles, and the storyline has a religious vibe to it. Part of the story is me around a bunch of people speaking French. I’m trying to figure out like, ‘Is this gonna be a fight?’"

There is no official premiere date for the Daryl Dixon series yet, but check back here for more updates!
