Disco Elysium
Disco Elysium is a very interesting game. Not only does it have a compelling setting and complex characters, but some unique gameplay, including a protagonist who must constantly monitor his own thoughts and personality traits. It could make for a fascinating internal monologue on the TV show.
A Disco Elysium show would could take viewers deep into Revachol, a fictional city in a retro-futuristic sci-fi world, focusing on the lives of its citizens and their struggles with poverty, crime, and corruption. With its strong characters, deep plot, and intense action, Disco Elysium could be an engaging and entertaining TV show.
Bioshock
Set in a dystopian underwater city called Rapture, a sprawling dystopian metropolis filled with danger and mystery, Bioshock follows the story of an investigator who discovers deep and dark secrets regarding Rapture and its creation. It features an intriguing blend of sci-fi and horror and an engaging story with twists that will leave the viewer of any TV adaptation sitting on the edge of their seat.
You don’t get a lot of underwater cities on TV anymore. It would make for some spectacular, self-contained sets.
Heavy Rain
One of the best games of all time, Heavy Rain was the first game that came to mind when I started brainstorming what could make a good TV show.
Heavy Rain is about an investigation of the Origami Killer, a mysterious serial killer who terrorizes the city of Philadelphia. In the game, you follow the lives of four different protagonists — Ethan Mars, Scott Shelby, Norman Jayden and Madison Paige — as they attempt to unveil the killer’s identity and put an end to a string of murders, all for their own reasons.
A Heavy Rain show would explore themes of morality and justice as the characters find themselves in difficult situations where their choices could have devastating consequences. With its intense action and extremely heavy story, Heavy Rain could be a truly unforgettable TV show… if done right.
