Vin Diesel is one of the most reliable box office earners working in movies today. That’s mostly because of his role as Dom in the unstoppable Fast & Furious franchise, which has a tenth film coming out this year. But let’s not forget that he’s Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, or that he got his big break playing sci-fi antihero Richard B. Riddick way back in 2000’s Pitch Black.

That first movie was a pretty low-budget affair, a sci-fi horror film that got by on pluck and verve. For follow-up The Chronicles of Riddick, writer-director David Twohy set his sights higher; he upped the budget, hired Judi Dench to play some kind of space priest and added a bunch of lore.

And then there was a third movie in 2013 that most people seem to have forgotten about. And now, Deadline reports that Diesel and Twohy are working on a fourth.

Vin Diesel will return as Richard B. Riddick in Riddick: Furya

“Our legion fans have demanded it for years, and now we’re finally ready to honor their call to action with Riddick: Furya,” Twohy said in a statement. “My collaboration with Vin and One Race has spanned 20 fruitful years, as together we’ve created three movies, two video games, an anime production, and motion comics for the internet. This new big-screen event will see a return to Riddick’s homeworld, where we finally get to explore Riddick’s genesis.”

Furya, by the way, is the name of Riddick’s home planet, left desolate after a brutal military campaign. Riddick belongs to a warrior race known as Furyans, which sounds like a race of cuddly dog aliens to me, but what do I know?

Anyway, there’s no release date yet for Riddick: Furya.
