Climate change: we all know it’s a huge problem, but Hollywood has produced relatively little salient content about it, and no, Jake Gyllenhaal trying to outrun a cold front in The Day After Tomorrow doesn’t count.
A new anthology series coming to Apple TV+ looks to be taking a serious swing at the topic: Extrapolations has assembled an all-star cast to trace the progress of climate change on Earth over the next century, with different episodes telling standalone stories that reckon with the how, why, and when of our planet getting warmer and more dangerous.

Kit Harington wears shiny gold pants in trailer for Extrapolations on Apple TV+
That’s Game of Thrones veteran Kit Harington playing Nicholas Bilton, who looks like some kind of technology entrepreneur attempting to address climate change. Time will tell whether he’s actually trying to help or just make a buck. At the moment, all I can see are the shiny gold pants Harington is wearing in that scene by the indoor pool.
Harington has some pretty impressive costars, including Edward Norton, Meryl Streep, Tobey Maguire, Diane Lane, and Forest Whitaker. Jon Snow’s made it!
Extrapolations premieres on Apple TV+ on March 17.
