We’re only two episodes away from the end of The Last of Us…season 1. Thankfully, the zombie hit will return to HBO for another season sometime down the line, and after how good this first season has been, I think we can all be thankful of that.
The Last of Us Episode 7 took a bit of a break from the main story to dive into Ellie’s past, showing us her relationship with her friend Riley, which didn’t end well. Episode 8, the penultimate episode, will take us back to the present as Ellie tries to keep a wounded Joel alive.
What’s worse, it looks like the raiders who injured Joel have caught up to them. Ellie has some tough choices to make. Watch the trailer for “When We Are in Need” below:

Joel and Ellie have formed a nigh-inseparable bond at this point, so I don’t see her turning on him and joining the group that put him in this position. But what choice does he have fighting against all of them even as she tries to keep Joel alive? Like I said, tough choices.
We’ll have to wait a minute before finding out. New episodes of The Last of Us air Sunday nights on HBO and HBO Max.
