Between playing Joel Miller in The Last of Us and Din Djarin in The Mandalorian, Pedro Pascal is showing up in all corners of geek culture. As one ends, the other returns. Prepare for Pascal to swap out the post-apocalyptic United States for the galaxy far, far away this week!

With The Mandalorian season 3 just around the corner, Pascal is beginning to see a rise in bizarre requests. Particularly, fans are always asking him to do his signature “Mandalorian” voice for them. However, the idea isn’t as fun as it sounds.

“People come up to me and ask me to do the voice [from ‘The Mandalorian’] for their kids,” Pascal said on The Graham Norton Show. “But I think it sounds inappropriate because it is a breathy, low register ‘bedroom’ voice. It is so creepy and doesn’t work in real life.”

Pedro Pascal forgot he was cast in The Last of Us…at first

Pedro Pascal is a busy man, and sometimes things slip his mind. While awaiting to hear back from HBO about whether he landed the role of Joel in The Last of Us, Pascal was in the middle of filming other projects and was super tired, so he took a pill to help him get some sleep. Only then did he receive a call from The Last of Us team to tell him he’d landed the part.

“It was late, and I took an Ambien, a sleeping tablet,” he remembered. “So they called me to tell me I’d got the job, but I’d already taken the tablet. I thought I’d at least have to wait until the next day. I was like ‘Oh my god,’ and then a couple of minutes on the call went by apparently and I was like ‘So what’s up? Did I get the job?’ and they were like ‘What’re you talking about? We called you and told you that you got the job.’”

"I forgot that completely, and then woke up in the morning and was all like ‘Oh my god, did I get the job? I’ll have to wait all day. They’re in L.A., I’m in London. I’m going to be waiting by the phone and everything, and I had already got the job…"

All’s well that ends well, I suppose. Watch the clip:

Jon Favreau is impressed by Pedro Pascal’s performance in The Last of Us

From looking after Grogu to accompanying Ellie, Pascal is Hollywood’s go-to father figure actor. Jon Favreau, the showrunner behind The Mandalorian, shared his admiration for The Last of Us. “It’s a great show, by the way,” he told Empire Magazine. “I’ve been on the road, I missed the last one, so I don’t want any spoilers. He’s great!”

"It’s amazing how much he’s really cornered the market on this dad, protective father archetype. But they’re different characters, though! Completely different characters, but both have that same… There’s a central relationship of modeling a protective father in a not very communicative relationship."

The Mandalorian season 3 premieres on Wednesday, March 1, with new episodes dropping weekly on Disney+.

Next. The Mandalorian season 4 already written, will tie into other Star Wars shows. dark
