As usual, Game of Thrones veterans are out here getting gigs and starting up projects. Right at the top, Deadline reports that Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) has started filming The Thicket, an adaptation of the Joe R. Lansdale novel of the same name. Dinklage has been attached to this dark western project for over a decade and now it’s finally happening.

The Thicket is about a young man who sets out to rescue his sister from a gang and its violent leader. To do this, he assembles his own crack team: a bounty hunter (Dinklage), a grave digger with a drinking problem and a prostitute. Together, they plan to lure the gang leader into…pause for dramatic effect…the thicket, a lawless area where anything goes.

“I’m so very excited to bring Joe Lansdale’s riveting story to the screen,” Dinklage said in a statement. “A journey into the heart of darkness to find love and return it to its rightful place.” The Thicket will come out on the streaming service Tubi.

Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon joins erectile dysfunctional drama Men Up

Moving on, Game of Thrones veteran Iwan Rheon (Ramsey Bolton) has joined the cast of the BBC drama Men Up, about a group of men in Wales who enter trails in the ’90s for the drug that will eventually become Viagra. (Read the title again and think about it.)

Rheon plays Meurig, who is part of the trials with a trio of other men. “As each man grapples with their own insecurities and hiding the truth from their loved ones – including their wives and partners Ffion Jenkins and Teresa Rigby who are also fighting their own battles – will this little pill be able to bring back their spark?” asks the official BBC synopsis.

Men Up is written by Matthew Barry and produced by Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies. There’s no release date as of yet.

Finally, apropos of nothing, here’s a video of Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Gregor “the Mountain” Clegane) using his wife Kelsey Henson as a dumbell at the gym.

Happy Monday, everyone!
