It will be Lights, Camera, Batman coming this November, as we now have confirmation that The Batman Part 2, the current title for the upcoming sequel to The Batman, will begin filming later this year.

Confirmation on the start of production for The Batman Part 2 came yesterday from Michael Uslan’s instagram account. where he uploaded a poster of Batman and a caption stating production would begin November 23 of this year. Uslan was an executive producer not only on The Batman, but on almost every piece of Batman-related video media since Tim Burton’s 1989’s Batman movie. (Seriously, take a glance at his IMDb page) Word from him that The Batman Part 2 begins filming November 23 is like Moses coming down the mountain.

That said, the Instagram post has since disappeared, which either means that the date was wrong or that the higher-ups advised Uslan that it was too early to unveil that information. The mystery abides…

Who will be the villain in The Batman Part 2?

Whenever they start shooting, a good deal of questions still remain about The Batman Part 2, namely casting. Robert Pattinson will undoubtedly return as the Caped Crusader, with Andy Serkis back as Alfred and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon.

The first film in this series introduced four classic Batman villains: Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman and the “Unseen Arkham Prisoner” who is pretty obviously the Joker. All Batman series eventually feature the Joker in a prominent role, so Barry Keoghan will probably be back. Meanwhile, Colin Farrell’s Penguin is receiving his very own HBO Max spinoff series that takes place after the events of The Batman.

And Part 2 will probably introduce someone new as well. Director Matt Reeves has expressed interest in Mr. Freeze and his backstory, while Pattinson has said he hopes to face off against the Court of Owls. When it comes to Batman villains, there’s no shortage of possibilities.

The Batman Part 2 is slated to release October 3, 2025.
