Milly Alcock played the younger version of Rhaenyra Targaryen in the first season of House of the Dragon, HBO’s follow-up to Game of Thrones. The 22-year-old Australian actor made a big splash, even getting nominated for some high-profile acting awards, but don’t count on her appearing in the show again.

On one level: duh. Alcock transitioned out of the show between Episodes 5 and 6, when there was a 10-year time jump. On the other end of it, Rhaenyra was played by Emma D’Arcy, who will return for House of the Dragon season 2.

But still, some fans have wondered if Alcock could come back for flashback scenes. But Alcock herself dashed hopes of that while talking to Deadline. “No. It’s done,” she said plainly.

Milly Alcock: “House of the Dragon changed my life very quickly and it will never be the same”

Well, that settles that! “[House of the Dragon] changed my life very quickly and it will never be the same again,” Alcock continued. “Now I get to do all of the wonderful, amazing things that I really want to do, and I’m still figuring out what that is.”

"Your dreams shouldn’t be coming true at 21 and 22. It shouldn’t be allowed. I still need to f*ck up a bit more — like, I shouldn’t even be unsupervised this young on a day-to-day level."

One of the wonderful, amazing things Alcock is doing is making her professional theater debut in a production of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible. She’ll play Abigail Williams, one of first young women to start falsely accusing their neighbors of Witchcraft during the Salem witch trials.

Alcock confesses she’s “mortified” at starring in a high-profile production of such an acclaimed masterpiece, but intends to make the most of it. ”I think that’s kinda good. This is throwing me right into it.”

The Crucible will run at the Gielgud Theatre in London from June 7 to September 2. Alcock is the first actor to be cast.
