What are the cast and crew of Game of Thrones up to nowadays? Read and learn.
First up, Geo reports that Natalie Dormer, who played the politically savvy queen Margaery Tyrell, married her fiance David Oakes in a quiet ceremony in the English town of Bruton in February. “Natalie and David kept the wedding very low-key, they didn’t want it to be a huge bash though it certainly was still a day to remember,” said a source. “They just wanted to share the moment with a select group of people as they’re very private individuals. But it was a beautiful ceremony.”
Congrats to the happy couple! Dormer and Oakes already welcomed a daughter together in 2021. The two met while acting in a play called Venus in Furs in 2017. Oakes is also an actor; he’s currently appearing in the Netflix series Vikings: Valhalla as Earl Godwin.
Nathalie Emmanuel teams up with John Woo in remake of action movie classic
Next up, Deadline reports that Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei) has landed a lead role in Peacock’s remake of John Woo’s 1989 action classic The Killer. She’ll play the female lead opposite Omar Sy.
The original movie starred Chow Yun Fat as an assassin who takes one last assignment to get enough money to pay for the surgery of a singer he blinded. Woo is expected to return to direct the remake.
Emmanuel is one of the bigger breakout stars from Game of Thrones, mostly because of her recurring role as Ramsey in the fabulously successful Fast & Furious franchise. The next movie in that series, Fast X, comes out in May.
Game of Thrones director Jeremy Podeswa will direct Amazon’s Blade Runner show
Finally, The Hollywood Reporter has it that Jeremy Podeswa will direct the pilot for Blade Runner 2099, a new sci-fi series coming to Amazon. The new show is based, of course, on Ridley Scott’s original 1982 film Blade Runner, as well as the 2017 sequel Blade Runner 2049. What will this noir dystopia look like half a century later?
Podeswa has directed shows like Boardwalk Empire and The Pacific but is best known for his work on Game of Thrones, where he directed Jon Snow’s resurrection in “Home” and the grand Dragonpit meeting in “The Dragon and the Wolf.”
Ridley Scott is on board as a producer on the new show. Silka Luisa is the showrunner. There’s no release date as of yet.
