Netflix is working on the next season of Wednesday, the hit show about the ooky-spooky Addams Family daughter. Jenna Ortega, who plays the lead role of Wednesday Addams, revealed as much while on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she was promoting Scream VI. Side note: that movie is now playing in theaters!

Ortega is also fresh off her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live; her career is skyrocketing. It’s honestly quite impressive to see how far she’s come in such a short amount of time.

Anyway, she had some fun tidbits to reveal about Wednesday season 2. Watch below!

Jenna Ortega: Wednesday season 2 will “up the horror aspect”

“Everyone’s being really cool,” Ortega said. “I think we want to up the horror aspect a little bit and then get Wednesday out of the romantic situation and just let her be her own individual.” As we saw in the first season, Wednesday marches to the beat of her own, dark drum. She might have found herself harboring romantic feelings, but that sounds like it will be short-lived.

I’m looking forward to seeing Wednesday in her element coming season 2. I always enjoyed the horror elements of The Addams Family, and I’m psyched to hear that that is what they are aiming for on the Netflix show.

Wednesday was a blockbuster hit for Netflix. Will season 2 follow suit? If Jenna Ortega’s comments about it are any indication, I’d say we are in for a treat!
