David Bradley, aka Argus Filch from the Harry Potter films, aka Walder Frey from Game of Thrones, has been keeping quite busy lately. He was recently the voice of Gepetto in Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio. And he’s in a new film called Allelujah.

Bradley has been working for decades and shows no signs of stopping. In fact, he’s down to return to some of his old roles, including the First Doctor on Doctor Who.

David Bradley (Walder Frey from Game of Thrones) would love to play the Doctor again

Speaking to RadioTimes.com, Bradley said he “would love” to reprise the role of the First Doctor. Originally, Doctor Who’s first Doctor was played by William Hartnell, but Bradley has stepped into that role a handful of times, including in An Adventure in Space and Time, a docudrama that celebrated Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary and Hartnell’s time as the Doctor.

“Well, I enjoyed doing An Adventure in Space and Time, playing the actor who played Doctor Who, and then with Peter Capaldi I played Doctor Who itself and it still fascinates me,” said Bradley. “And yes, if ever I get the call, I would always love to, I would love to.”

We can only hope that current Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies makes that call in the near future. There is a new era of Doctor Who on the horizon, and with the 60th anniversary coming later this year, perhaps we’ll see David Bradley back in the TARDIS.

Doctor Who returns later this year with multiple specials that feature the returns of David Tennant and Catherine Tate, followed by a new season with a new Doctor played by Ncuti Gatwa.
