Outlander season 7 to be released in two chunks—premiere date revealed!

Hampered by the pandemic, the sixth season of Outlander was shorter than usual, a mere eight episodes. But Starz’s time-traveling romance series will make up for lost time in season 7, which will clock in at a massive 16 installments.
And we’re getting new information on them today. The season 7 premiere will hit Starz on June 16. The season will run for eight episodes before taking a break. The final eight episodes of season 7 will air sometime in 2024.
If you air two blocks of episodes a year apart from each other are they really still part of the same season? Whatever, we’re just happy there’s a premiere date. Prepare for Outlander season 7 parts 1 and 2!

Outlander season 7 will be based mainly on Diana Gabaldon’s book An Echo in the Bone, as well as draw in a few things from other novels. After that, Outlander will wrap up with an eighth and final season. We don’t have any release date info on that yet.
But lest you think that Outlander will perish from this TV Earth, Starz is also prepping a prequel series about Jamie Fraser’s parents called Outlander: Blood of My Blood. If Starz can help it, we’ll never have another Droughtlander again.
