Changes are afoot in the DC Cinematic Universe. Henry Cavill is out as Superman, to be replaced by a younger actor. Ben Affleck will make his last appearance as Batman in The Flash, which comes out this June.

But what about other DC mainstays like Jason Momoa, who has played Aquaman for years? He has a new movie coming out this December: Aquaman and the Last Kingdom. Will he also get phased out along with Cavill, Affleck, and the rest of the DC old guard?

“I absolutely think Aquaman will be involved in the DCU,” Momoa recently told Total Film. “It’s on, bro – there’s no one bigger than Aquaman! But, also, I hope people are excited to see the new one. It’s fun. I really enjoy doing comedy. There’s some really funny stuff with Patrick Wilson. I really adore him. We had a great time working together. It’s like we’re brothers. There’s a lot of cool stuff happening in this one.”

There’s been speculation that Momoa may be playing a new character in the DCU: an antihero named Lobo. He didn’t deny it when speaking to Variety earlier this year, although maintained that he can keep playing Aquaman, too. “I’ll always be Aquaman,” he said. “Ain’t anyone coming in there and taking s**t. There might be some other characters, too. I can play other things, too. I can be funny and savage and charming.”

Lena Headey joins new show from Sons of Anarchy creator

As long as we’re talking about former Game of Thrones stars, Netflix has announced that Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) has joined the cast of The Abandons, a new Netflix drama from Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter.

“As a group of diverse, outlier families pursue their Manifest Destiny in 1850s Oregon, a corrupt force of wealth and power, coveting their land, tries to force them out,” reads the synopsis for the series. “These abandoned souls, the kind of lost souls living on the fringe of society, unite their tribes to form a family and fight back. In this bloody process, ‘justice’ is stretched beyond the boundaries of the law.”

Headey will play a mother of four on the show. There’s no info on a release date as of yet.
