James Gunn is the man with the plan. He made us fall in love with the unruly Guardians of the Galaxy, and now he’s teaming up with Peter Safran to relaunch the DC Cinematic Universe, starting with a new Superman movie.

James Gunn has made a lot of moves over the last few years, and we can expect many more. And since he’s worked both with Marvel and DC, we can’t help but wonder: will he ever bring these two worlds together? Will there ever be a Marvel-DC crossover?

Here’s what James Gunn had to say about that!

James Gunn on the possibility of a Marvel-DC crossover

Speaking to Empire, Gunn admitted that they’d talked about the possibility. “I’m certain that’s more likely now that I’m in charge [at DC],” he said. “That’s many years away, though,” he says. “I think we have to establish what we’re doing [at DC] first. I would be lying to say that we haven’t discussed it. But all discussions have been very, very light and fun.”

We’ve seen these types of crossovers happen in comics over the years. It’d be great to see that translate to the screen!

At the moment, Gunn is busy promoting the third and final Guardians of the Galaxy, which is set to release on May 5. We’ve got less than a month, folks; it’s almost time!

Following the worldwide press tour, Gunn will likely get to work on casting Superman: Legacy. We know he’s got a script ready to go, so now it’s time to put some faces to those characters and start this party. It’ll be weird to see someone else play the Man of Steel after Henry Cavill, but I’m excited about this new take on the character. We’re getting a younger version of him this time, and hopefully a story we haven’t seen yet. I’m nervous about the changes happening at DC, but I’ve put my trust in James Gunn’s leadership.
