CinemaCon is going on as we speak, which means lots of new trailers coming down the pike, including some big ones like the new Flash movie.
This is set to be the last hurrah for the DC Universe as begun by Zack Snyder in 2013’s Man of Steel. The Flash will star human wrecking ball Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, who uses his super-speed to travel the multiverse and change his traumatic past. Watch the trailer below:
The Flash is about the Flash, but the movie is also set to be a cameo-fest. Notably, we have both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton returning as Batman, to the point where the trailer kind of plays like a Batman movie. See The Batman The Flash in theaters on June 16.
People were crying at the first screening of The Flash
Warner Bros. Discovery screened an in-progress version of The Flash at the convention, and it seems to be going over well, at least with executives at theater chains. “I absolutely loved it,” Vue Cinemas exec Tim Richards, per Deadline. “It’s got heart, it’s got soul. You care about the characters. It’s going to be big. It’s great to see the whole Warner Bros. slate including comedies, horror and DC. Everything that our audiences are desperate for.” Another executive called it “one of the best DC films ever made.”
Kentucky-based exhibitor Rick Roman gave an assessment of the audience reaction: “The audience loved it. I thought it was very good — lots of humor. Emotional at the end with some people crying. I like how they brought in Batman to support the Flash. Smart move. The movie will have legs since people will see it more than once.”
The audience was mostly comprised of critics, who also had very nice things to say:
Just saw the first ever public screening of The Flash at CinemaCon. It is a dazzling trip thru time as the DC universe indeed flashes before our eyes. Not just a great new addition to DC but a wild and surprising tribute to what came before. A triumph for Ezra and Keatons return.

The Flash is hands down one of the best superhero films of all time. No joke, The Flash is the ultimate movie going experience as it has a little bit of everything! Action, emotion, heart, humor and plenty of nostalgia. Ezra Miller is phenomenal as dual Barry Allens. Michael… pic.twitter.com/F7SHA30vZM

BELIEVE THE HYPE! Christopher Nolan movies aside, #TheFlashMovie is the GREATEST DC movie of the last 30 years that belongs in the same conversation as SUPERMAN 78 and BATMAN 89. The movie breaks incredible new ground in superhero cinema & honors DC lore of years past. #TheFlash pic.twitter.com/zGkhpfjlsl

I didn't know what to make of the hype before The Flash, but WOW. The movie is an absolute blast from end to end. It's hilarious, thrilling, emotional, and surprising. What an incredible way to launch the next chapter of DC movies. Get excited! pic.twitter.com/4kvf1hWeih

One more thing about #TheFlash, Ezra Miller is the heart and soul of the film. Ezra’s performance carries the entire weight of the story. It is a dual performance and really showcases Ezra’s incredible talent as a performer. They bring such rich emotion and depth to the role of… pic.twitter.com/yIB2tVE5xB

#TheFlash is fantastic. I know Ezra Miller has made a lot of mistakes but they are soooooo good in this movie. Loved Keaton, the action, humor and emotion. Andy Muschietti has crafted something special. Thumbs way up.

WB didn’t show the after the credits scenes. pic.twitter.com/J8KsdrKVwz
At least one didn’t let Miller off the hook for their behavior, albeit in a tongue-in-cheek way:
Believe the hype: #TheFlash is better than being choke-slammed to the ground outside a bar in Iceland. By the end of the movie, you'll feel like you got away with multiple crimes in Hawaiʻi and are anchoring a massive tentpole superhero film with virtually no consequences.

There were other trailers shown off at CinemaCon, including new ones for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Dune: Part 2, and Wonka, but thus far none of those have made their way online. Stay tuned.
