So far as deepfakes go, this one had to have been pretty natural. Emilia Clarke already played a Targaryen with silver-blonde hair decked out in opulent medieval finery; having her slip into Rhaenyra’s role is a natural fit.

What would Emilia Clarke look like playing Rhaenyra Targaryen on House of the Dragon?

Of course, Clarke is done playing Targaryens. You can next see her in The Pod Generation, a movie set in the near future where she and her partner consider using of incubation technology to aid with a pregnancy.

But D’Arcy will be back as Rhaenyra! And Matt Smith back as Daemon, Olivia Cooke back as Alight Hightower, and so on. Hopefully, we’ll all be watching them go to war with other on HBO and Max come 2024.
