With his long-awaited Gladiator sequel, Ridley Scott is assembling a cast of stars big enough to rival Denis Villeneuve‘s Dune. There’s Paul Mescal as protagonist Lucius, alongside Barry Keoghan, Connie Nielsen, Denzel Washington and Stranger Things breakout star Joseph Quinn as Emperor Caracalla. Now we can add Pedro Pascal to the list.

As far as specific details are concerned, these are still early days. Pascal’s role remains under wraps. The actor is currently working on a plethora of projects. Most notably, he’ll return to the role of Joel Miller in The Last of Us season 2, a role that earned him a ton of acclaim when season 1 premiered in January. He’s also the Mandalorian in The Mandalorian. You’d think headlining two major TV series would be enough for most any actor, but Pascal wants to reach for those stars.

There’s plenty of hype surrounding Gladiator 2, the follow-up to Ridley Scott Gladiator, which swept the Oscars after it was released in 2000; it was nominated for 12 Oscars and won five, including the coveted Best Picture award. Most of the original team is returning for the sequel. Per Deadline, John Mathieson (director of photography), Arthur Max (production designer) and Janty Yates (costume designer) are all coming back.

Gladiator 2 is still some ways away. The sequel is set for November 22, 2024. Given that fans have been waiting over two decades for another movie, we’re pretty close now!

Pedro Pascal shows up in style at the Met Gala 2023!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that the Met Gala was held this week. The event is an annual fundraising gala held in New York, where celebrities turn out in the wildest, coolest, smartest, most stylish outfits the fashion industry can make for them. This year, the theme was “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” Here’s Pascal’s entry:

It’s strange not seeing him cladded out in the signature Mandalorian armour, nor dirty post-apocalyptic garb. And soon he’ll be rocking Roman armor in Gladiator 2!

As long as we’re talking about the Met Gala, Pascal’s The Last of Us costar Bella Ramsey also showed up:

Are these outfits typical of German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld? Who knows? They look neat.

Next. The Last of Us season 2 will start shooting in “months, not years”. dark
