Whovians, rejoice! An interesting new teaser for the upcoming Doctor Who 60th anniversary special dropped on BBC One earlier this week. We get a really quick look at David Tennant’s Fourteenth Doctor and the return of Catherine Tate’s Donna Noble.
The clip is about 10 seconds long. Check it out below:
Doctor Who BBC One releases a teaser for Doctor Who 60th anniversary special
Whovians are famous for uncovering Easter Eggs and hidden messages in trailers and episodes, and such iss the case with this teaser. There were some strange noises in the clip which fans quickly figured out a line of dialogue from Donna played backwards. Reversed, she says: “Why did this face come back?”
There’s also a code sequence that reads, “EV1305.” Fans assume this means a new trailer for Doctor Who will drop during Eurovision on May 13.
Finally, there was a since-deleted tweet from the official Doctor Who Twitter account with a binary number sequence. One fan cracked the code and figured out that it revealed the words, “Star Beast.” This is in reference to the 1980 comic book titled Doctor Who and the Star Beast. In that comic, there are two monsters known as the Meeps and the Wrath Warriors, both of whom have already been confirmed to appear in the 60th anniversary special.
It looks like all the clues are coming together, but given we still have about 7-8 months before the special airs, more hints will likely be thrown our way. The Whovians will be ready.
