Pete Davidson has a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was an absolute sob fest from start to finish. Anyone that has seen it can attest to this. But despite all of that, this Marvel movie was a work of absolute genius by director and writer James Gunn. It was his farewell to Marvel Studios before he moves on to his duties building out the DC Cinematic Cinematic Universe, and it wrecked all of us.

This was clearly a labor of love for Gunn, so it doesn’t surprise me that he voiced a character and brought on some celebrity friends to voice others. This includes former Saturday Night Live alum Pete Davidson.

Gunn posted revealed the info on Twitter. “My friend Pete not only voiced but actually came to visit us in Atlanta for a day and played Phlektik on set,” Gunn wrote alongside pictures of himself, Davidson, Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Starlord), Zoe Saldaña (Gamora), Pom Klementieff (Mantis) and other actors.

Who did Pete Davidson play in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?

If you’re like me and don’t remember who Phlektil is, don’t worry, I’ve got you. He was the alien guard to the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji), the sociopathic villain who created Rocket Racoon (Bradley Cooper).

This isn’t the first time Davidson has worked with Gunn. He played Blackguard in 2021’s The Suicide Squad, which Gunn also directed.

Gunn also voiced a character in the movie: the blob known as Lambshank. Unfortunately, he did not post a picture of her. “I don’t want to show her here because she’s too gorgeous and I don’t want folks to feel bad about themselves in comparison,” he wrote.

Along with Davidson and Gunn’s cameos, the film also featured Maria Bakalova as Cosmo the Spacedog and Linda Cardellini as Rocket’s otter friend, Lylla.

If you haven’t seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, I highly recommend you check it out. It is an emotional sendoff to the series that you will never forget. You will be missed, Guardians!
