Doctor Who reveals titles and trailer for 60th anniversary specials

Doctor Who fans, we finally have the trailer we’ve been waiting for! After weeks of cryptic teasers, Whovians now know the titles of the three 60th anniversary episodes, which will star David Tennant and Catherine Tate back in the roles of the Doctor and Donna Noble!

There’s also Neil Patrick Harris as a villain and Barbie’s Ncuti Gatwa as the new Doctor! Watch below:

The three episode titles are “The Star Beast,” “Wild Blue Yonder,” and “The Giggle.” Along with these title reveals, we got another look at Harris’ character and Heartstopper’s Yasmin Finney. And, of course, the trailer featured Tennant and Tate, which is always a treat. It’s been over a decade since these two played these roles, so the reunion has been a long time coming!

Doctor Who drops trailer for 60th anniversary special

We can expect these specials to air in November. They will serve as the gateway into the next season of Doctor Who, where Gatwa will star as the Doctor. I’m sad we’re only getting Tennant for another three episodes, but I’ll take what I can get.

According to Variety, showrunner Russell T Davies released a statement this week regarding the new trailer and episode titles. “The titles are just the beginning of the Doctor’s biggest adventure yet,” Davies said. “Autumn is coming, with three hours of danger, Donna, and disaster about to be unleashed!”

That sounds epic!

We don’t know much about the specials, however. “The Star Beast” is based on a Doctor Who comic story. Hardcore fans will probably be looking forward to seeing the character Beep the Meep! As for the other two specials, I believe they’re all new. All I know that they’re going to be amazing!
