We’re just a few shorts weeks away from the debut of The Flash, the next big DC movie. The movie has gone through director changes and some major drama involving star Ezra Miller, but it’s finally coming out!

Miller in particular has gotten a lot of attention. To summarize, last year, Miller made headlines with a series of arrests and scandals all over the country, to the point where there was talk of replacing them as Barry Allen. But Miller reassured executives at Warner Bros. Discovery that the streak of bad behavior was over, and things moved forward.

But would they bring Miller back for a sequel movie should The Flash become a success? Would that just be tempting fate? The Flash director Andy Muschietti weighed in on this during an appearance on the Discourse podcast.

Andy Muschietti wants Ezra Miller to stick around if there is a sequel to The Flash

“I don’t think there’s anyone that can play that character as well as they did,” Muschietti said. “The other depictions of the character are great, but this particular vision of the character, they just excelled in doing it.”

That’s a fairly bold stance considering Miller’s legal troubles. Studio support for the actor has rubbed some people the wrong way, but if there’s support for Miller among the higher-ups, it’s possible he could stick around the new DC Universe.

Then again, the final call may be up to James Gunn and Peter Safran, who now manage the DCU. Maybe they’ll bring in Miller, or maybe they won’t want to deal with all the baggage they bring with them. We’ll have a better idea of what’s next afterThe Flash releases in theaters on June 16.
