Dwayne Johnson will fight Jason Momoa in new Fast & Furious movie
By Dan Selcke
Fast X is the latest hit for The Fast and the Furious franchise, a movie series about cars that has improbably blown up into one of the biggest action spectacles in history. Fast X introduced a new villain in the form of Dante Reyes, a revenge-fueled slab of charisma played by the always-entertaining Jason Momoa.
The movie was also full of cameos from the franchise’s past, including a post-credits appearance from Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson as federal agent Luke Hobbs. Hobbs was introduced into the franchise in Fast Five and has appeared in several since, including the spinoff Hobbs & Shaw. Now, according to Johnson himself, he’ll star in a new Hobbs movie that will bridge the gap between Fast X and a sequel movie he calls Fast X: Part II.
That’s a lotta roman numerals in one place. Check out Johnson’s message below:

Some quick points about the message:
- I didn’t know you could have that many characters in a Twitter post.
- I am unqualified to talk about whatever beef Johnson had with Fast & Furious frontman Vin Diesel, but apparently it is squashed.
- Is “funderwear” a thing people say?
As for the movie itself, Johnson says that it will feature Hobbs going up against Dante Reyes, meaning we have a throwdown between the Rock and Khal Drogo to look forward to.
The untitled sequel to Fast X is due out in 2025, so I assume this new Hobbs movie will come out before that. Perhaps 2024? Stay tuned.
