Newly minted DC czar James Gunn is on the hunt for someone to play Superman in the new movie Superman Lives. We’ve already heard about him looking at actors like David Corenswet, Tom Brittney and Andrew Richardson.

And here comes a new challenger: citing inside sources, Variety claims that Gunn has enjoyed a self-tape sent in by 31-year-old American actor Pierson Fodé, who had a three-year run on the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful as well as a recurring role on the Disney Channel show Jessie, among other things.

Reportedly, Fode’s tape included a montage of his childhood growing up on a farm, not unlike one Clark Kent. Apparently Gunn liked what he saw.

Could Disney Channel vet Pierson Fodé become the next Superman?

“The next Superman has to be someone who has all the humanity that Superman has, but he’s also an alien,” Gunn previously said. “It’s gotta be somebody who has the kindness and the compassion that Superman has and be somebody who you want to give a hug.” Based on the actors we’ve heard about, it also looks like Gunn wants to hire an unknown.

At 6’3″, Fode could have the stature to play Superman. As for the super-physique, here’s a photo of Fode having misplaced his pants on the gram:

No choices have been made yet, but our cast of characters is coming together. And if none of these guys work out, another candidate is ready and willing:

Next. Nicolas Cage will finally play Superman in The Flash. dark
