Love the idea or loathe it, there will be no escaping Max’s upcoming Harry Potter reboot TV series. The streamer has made a decade-long commitment to the show, presumably adapting one of J.K. Rowling’s landmark novels per season, allowing the producers to explore the story in more depth than the Harry Potter movies.

The announcement of the reboot has received a mixed reception from the original cast of the movies. Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) has said that he “can’t wait” to see what the upcoming show has to offer. And now, Natalia Tena, who played Auror Nymphadora Tonks, has weighed in. While she initially had her reservations, she’s definitely curious about what’s to come.

“And actually, when I found out about the HBO thing, I think there’s that initial thing as an actor where you’re like, ‘Oh, don’t remake something…'” she told Screen Rant. “But then I was like, ‘No, it’s gonna be amazing!’ I got really excited about it.”

Moreover, after the initial shock of the news had settled, Tena mulled over potentially joining the thing. However, she doesn’t want to play Tonks again. “And then I was like, ‘Do you think I’m old enough now to play one of the teachers? How can I get another gig on this amazing project’ So, I’m definitely putting that to my agent.”

I mean, she does have Harry Potter experience, right? I’m sure fans would love to see her graduate to play one of the professors… but which one?

There are “loads” more stories for Tonks that the Harry Potter movies didn’t cover

Again, the show can explore stories from the books that never made it to the movies. Tena is excited by the show potentially covering more of Tonks’ backstory. “Have you read the books?” she asked. “Obviously, you know that there’s bits missing.”

Max’s Harry Potter reboot is still in the early stages of development, but it’s on the way whether we want it or not.
