When someone says “The Witcher,” you may think of one of several different things. Maybe you’re a fan of The Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski. Maybe you think of The Witcher video games by CD Projekt Red, or maybe you like The Witcher Netflix show with Henry Cavill.

All of these share things in common, but none are quite the same; the games, for instance, take place years after the conclusion of the books and what we presume will be the eventual conclusion of the Netflix show. However, they all feature the character of Ciri, a princess of Cintra who trains to become a witcher under Geralt of Rivia.

Just hold old is Ciri, full name Cirilla? It depends what version of The Witcher you’re talking about.

How old is Ciri in The Witcher series?

According to Witcher lore, Ciri was born around the year 1521 in the series’ timeline. A major event in both the books and the show is the fall of Cintra, the kingdom Ciri was to have taken over if it weren’t for those pesky Nilfgaardians. Cintra falls in 1263, when Ciri is 12 years old.

We see that in the first season of the Netflix show, which is about to go into its third season, which adapts Sapkowski’s book Blood of Elves. About a year has passed since the fall of Cintra, making Ciri around 13 years old in The Witcher season 3.

There’s quite a bit of adventure ahead for Ciri before we reach events of The Witcher 3 video game. Those take place in the year 1272, when Ciri is 21.

CD Projekt Red is also working on a fourth Witcher video game, although we don’t know if it involves Ciri, nor even if it skips ahead in time. But if she does show up, she could be quite a bit older still.
