The Witcher season 3 premiered on Netflix on Thursday, June 29, 2023. There are five episodes in the first part of the season. Fans will have to wait to watch The Witcher season 3 part 2 when it drops on July 27.
As we learn more about the final episodes of the season, we’ll keep this post updated with the most recent information about the end of The Witcher season 3.
How many episodes are in The Witcher season 3 part 2?
There are three episodes in The Witcher season 3 part 2.
In total, there are eight episodes in The Witcher season 3. We saw the first five episodes in part 1, which was released on June 29, and we’ll see the other three episodes of the season four weeks later.
Interestingly, Netflix chose to split the season into two parts. From a business perspective, it makes sense to release the season in batches a month apart, but is it what’s best for fans? The first two seasons of The Witcher were released all at once in 2019 and 2021. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and if fans mind waiting four weeks for those final three episodes.

Each of their characters met their end in the first half of The Witcher season 3.
The Witcher season 3 part 2 includes Henry Cavill’s final 3 episodes as Geralt
Unfortunately for fans of Henry Cavill, The Witcher season 3 part 2 will mark Cavill’s final appearance as Geralt of Rivia. He’ll be leaving the series after the season 3 finale. Liam Hemsworth will replace Cavill as Geralt starting in The Witcher season 4.
Will Liam Hemsworth be in The Witcher season 3 part 2?
So far, nothing has been confirmed about Liam Hemsworth’s involvement in The Witcher season 3 part 2. I think it’s pretty clear that Hemsworth will not be in The Witcher season 3 part 2. It would be a very weird way to end the season. His involvement would also have to have been figured out before the season wrapped production. The cast members didn’t know Cavill would be leaving while they filmed season 3, so that seems unlikely.
Most likely, Hemsworth will begin The Witcher season 4 with a clean slate as Geralt of Rivia.
It will be really interesting to see how Hemsworth settles in as Geralt. We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.
What’s going to happen in The Witcher season 3 part 2?
At the end of The Witcher season 3 part 1, Geralt finds himself with a knife at his neck. It appears that the Redanians have made their move at Aretuza. What we’re waiting to find out is what the fallout will be and how Geralt and Yennefer will get out of this situation.
We still don’t know if Dijkstra and Philippa’s plan involves Vilgefortz or if they’re at odds with him. It sure seems like that based on the vibe of the season so far.
Ciri and Jaskier are also alone in Loxia with Radovid. Was that part of the plan? Will the Redanians kidnap Ciri?
And what part will Nilfgaard and the elves play in this? We know that Emyhr is a schemer with big plans for the Continent and for Ciri. Emyhr is working with Vilgefortz, Lydia, and Rience. It feels like it’s all going to go down at the Conclave of Mages.
That’s where we expect the new episodes of season 3 part 2 to begin!
