Filming continues on the second season of House of the Dragon, strikes or no strikes. Most of it is now happening indoors at Leavesden Studios in the UK, so it’s unlikely we’ll be able to spy on anymore outdoor shoots.

But that doesn’t mean we’re not still getting updates. Fansite Redanian Intelligence brings us news of several new actors getting added to the cast in season 2, including Graeme McKnight as Paxter Strong:

There is no character named Paxter Strong in George R.R. Martin Fire & Blood, the book on which House of the Dragon is based. However, the Strong family is alive and well during this time; we’ve already met members like Rhaenyra Targaryen’s lover Harwin Strong and his scheming, foot enthusiast brother Larys Strong. The Strong family controls the castle of Harrenhal, where we’ll likely be spending a good amount of time in season 2. Odds are we’ll meet Paxter Strong — who will appear in three episodes — there.

Barbie actor Erica Ford joins House of the Dragon season 2

Redanian Intelligence has news of other actors joining the cast, although it doesn’t know what roles they’ll play. Expect to see folks like Roderick Hill (The Witcher), Samson Kayo (Our Flag Means Death), Jack Staddon (Harlots), Tom Cawte (London Fields) and Erica Ford (The Nevers) onscreen when House of the Dragon season 2 airs on HBO sometime in 2024 (hopefully, assuming the ongoing Hollywood strikes don’t slow things down).

Erica Ford is also in the Barbie movie, which looks like it will open to big crowds this weekend. She plays Barbie’s younger sister Skipper. Maybe she’ll be a star by the time House of the Dragon season 2 rolls around!
