The first season of Interview With The Vampire on AMC did something I didn’t think was possible: reimagine Anne Rice’s horror novel in a way that honored the source material while not feeling like a retread of the 1994 movie with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. It was just fun! The sooner the second season comes, the better.
We heard recently that filming on the second season had paused due to the Hollywood actors strikes. And that may be true, but AMC is apparently still hopeful they can get season 2 out next year, because they just released a trailer promising as much. Check it out below!
Delainey Hayles takes over the role of Claudia in Interview With The Vampire season 2
Season 1 ended with Louis (Jacob Anderson) and Claudia fleeing the United States after killing their maker Lestat (Sam Reid)…well, maybe killing. It’s unclear. Season 2 will take them to Paris, where we’ll see the origins of the relationship between Louis and the vampire Armand (Assad Zaman).
Season 2 will also introduce Delainey Hayles as the young vampire Claudia, taking over for Bailey Bass.
I still wonder if AMC may be putting the cart before the horse in announcing a 2024 release date this early — we don’t know when the strikes will end — but I’d like to watch more of this show, so I’m willing to go with it for now.
