Ms. Marvel producer is pushing for a second season
By Ariba Bhuvad
As a Pakistani-American, I would love to see more of Ms. Marvel on Disney+. Watching this show changed my life because I finally understood what it meant to see representation of my culture on a big platform.
It was truly one of the best experiences of my life watching the first season of Ms. Marvel, which is why I desperately want another. Sadly, it doesn’t look like Marvel has greenlit a season 2, but producer Sana Amanat is definitely pushing for it.
Here’s what she had to say during the Women of Marvel panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con!
Ms. Marvel producer wants fans to “complain” until we get a second season
The future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s timeline is unclear, given that Hollywood writers and actors are on strike. With everything up in the air, we may soon have less Marvel content than we’re used to.
With that in mind, it’s to know when, or whether, we’ll get a second season of Ms. Marvel. There were rumors that we’d get one before Avengers: Secret Wars releases in theaters in May 2027. It’s still possible, but we haven’t heard anything official.
Producer Sana Amanat said during the SDCC panel that “it’s great to see more demand” and that fans should absolutely keep pushing for another season of the show. “You know, complain. I’m happy to have you guys complain to [Marvel Studios President] Kevin [Feige], let’s get a Season 2.”
Will The Marvels lead into Ms. Marvel season 2?
We will see Ms. Marvel, aka Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), return in The Marvels. It will be her big screen debut, an epic team-up between Kamala, Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris).
I’m super excited about The Marvels. It’s the perfect distraction while we wait for updates on Ms. Marvel season 2. If the movie does well, the chances of getting a second season at all go way up.
The Marvels hits theaters (hopefully!) on November 10. You can also catch season 1 of Ms. Marvel now on Disney+.
