Later this year, David Tennnat will return to play the Doctor on Doctor Who, reprising his most famous role. But that’s just one of the many things he’s getting up to this year. The other week, he returned as the demon Crowley in the second season of Good Omens at Amazon, where he’s earning plaudits aplenty from fans.

Good Omens has a breezy, cozy kind of feel, as if the people making it were very comfortable with each other. And indeed they are; one of the things fans like best about the series is the easy chemistry between Tennant and costar Michael Sheen, who plays the angel Aziraphale.

And it goes deeper than that; Tennant got to work with his literal family during this new season.

David Tennant, son Ty Tennant and father-in-law Peter Davison go Biblical on Good Omens set

During a flashback in Episode 2, we see what Crowley and Aziraphale are up to back in Biblical times, which includes a run-in with the long-suffering Job. Job is played by Peter Davison, who played the Fifth Doctor on Doctor Who. He also happens to be David Tennant’s father-in-law.

What’s more, Job’s son is played by Ty Tennant, David Tennant’s own son. (Ty also appeared on House of the Dragon as young Aegon Targaryen.) Good Omens creator Neil Gaiman was good enough to share a picture on his blog of the three of them in costume behind the scenes:

You can watch both seasons of Good Omens right now on Amazon Prime Video. Also, David Tennant has shown support for his son with a shirt depicting his House of the Dragon character, Aegon Targaryen:

Unfortunately, young Aegon won’t be back for season 2 — the character has grown up and is now played by Tom Glynn-Carney — but we’ll always have the memories and the outerwear.
