There is an insane amount of overlap between the cast of Game of Thrones and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. From leading roles to minor cameos, a considerable number of Game of Thrones actors have appeared in Marvel projects. The high-budget HBO series boasted one of the biggest ensemble casts in television history. What’s more, the show made many of them stars, so perhaps it’s no surprise that there was spillover.

Let’s run down all the Game of Thrones actors who also appeared not just in the MCU, but also other Marvel productions.

Peter Dinklage

Peter Dinklage delivered a performance of a lifetime as Tyrion Lannister on Game of Thrones. His acting aged like a fine wine, and possibly peaked with the “I wish I was the monster you think I am” monologue at Tyrion’s trial in season 4.

Game of Thrones fans were only too happy to see Dinklage in Avengers: Infinity War, playing the last surviving dwarf of Nidavellir, Eitri. He helped Thor forge his Stormbreaker hammer from the heart of a dying star.

Dinklage also played Bolivar Trask, owner of Trask Industries and creator of the sentinels, in X-Men: Days of Future Past. So he’s appeared in multiple Marvel franchises.

Sophie Turner

Sophie Turner’s Sansa Stark had one of the most dramatic arcs on Game of Thrones. She went from being a lovesick teen hoping to marry a king to becoming the Queen of the North herself, surviving untold hardship in between.

Turner’s role on Game of Thrones helped land her the role of Jean Grey in Sony’s X-Men franchise. She played the Omega-level mutant in two movies: X-Men: Apocalypse and X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Kit Harington

A fan favorite on Game of Thrones, Kit Harington’s Jon Snow was the glue that held the show together. He was the brooding, kind-hearted protagonist with a secret Targaryen legacy that the audience could root for. Harington slipped into the role perfectly.

Fans who were disappointed by how Jon Snow’s arc turned out in the final season found some respite in him being cast as Dane Whitman in the MCU. Although his role in Chloe Zhao’s Eternals was small, he is set to reprise the role in future movies as Dane Whitman transforms into the Black Knight.
