Millie Bobby Brown “ready” to end Stranger Things journey
By Ashley Hurst
Netflix’s ‘80s-inspired, paranormal sci-fi series Stranger Things is the biggest show in streaming. But as the show prepares for its fifth and final season, the cast is ready to part ways with the series. Star Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), who was catapulted into stardom by the success of the show, recently revealed that she’s happy to wave goodbye.
Millie Bobby Brown was just 11 years when Stranger Things filmed its debut season, turning 12 when it was released in 2016. Now 19 years old, the show has been a mainstay throughout the formative years of her life. No doubt seeing it come to a close will be emotional, but she’s come to terms with it.
“I think I’m ready,” Brown told Women’s Wear Daily. “It’s been such a huge factor in part of my life but it’s like graduating high school, it’s like senior year. You’re ready to go and blossom and flourish and you’re grateful for the time you’ve had, but it’s time to create your own message and live your own life.”
Even while working on Stranger Things, Brown has landed some impressive roles, most notably as Enola Holmes. She’s also had supporting roles in blockbuster movies such as Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Godzilla vs. Kong. Without having to devote her time to Stranger Things, she will be able to explore other exciting projects. Later this year, she stars as Princess Elodie in Netflix’s Damsel.
Stranger Things 5 is set up for an epic conclusion!
In the final scene of Stranger Things season 4, the group thought they had done everything possible to defeat Vecna… but the war was only just beginning. In the final moments, the hellish Upside Down began to spill into the small town of Hawkins. Now that’s how you do a cliffhanger!
Progress on Stranger Things 5 is currently on pause due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. No release date has been set, although we’d guess we’d see it hit our screens sometime in 2025.
