Have you ever wondered what Boba Fett was thinking when he delivered Han Solo to Jabba the Hutt’s palace before the start of Return of the Jedi? What if you could uncover those thoughts…and Jon Hamm was reading them to you?

Next week marks the release of From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi, an anthology of short fiction which dives into events from the iconic Star Wars film. Each story will be told from the perspective of a different character. Previous From a Certain Point of View anthologies were released for A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, and both of them were absolute bangers stocked with stories from talented authors. The final installment in the trilogy promises to be just as good; 40 different authors have lent their talents to the book, which celebrates the 40th anniversary of George Lucas’ iconic film.

Jon Hamm will narrate a story about Boba Fett in From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi

Tara Sim, author of The City of Dusk, contributed a story to the anthology that details Boba Fett’s fateful delivery of the carbonite-frozen Han Solo to Jabba the Hutt. Jon Hamm (Mad MenGood Omens) will be reading this story in the audiobook version of the anthology.

Sim told USA Today that Boba Fett is one of her top 10 Star Wars characters, but it was actually Han Solo who inspired her story for the anthology, titled “Reputation.”

“I wanted to be in Boba’s head while he fulfills his contract with Jabba, and in the moments right before the Sarlacc, which meant that Han was the natural through line,” Sim explained. “It provided a really interesting backdrop to explore Boba’s pride in himself and his work, even though he’s just another one of Jabba’s hired hands – and could end up like Han if he’s not careful.”

Hamm played Boba Fett in both of the previous From a Certain Point of View books, each of which also features a story about the bounty hunter. It’s a nice bit of continuity for the audiobook reader! “Having an actor of his caliber read words that I wrote and bring that version of Boba to life is surreal, but also such an honor,” Sim said.

The rest of the voice cast for From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi is just as impressive. Beyond Hamm, the audiobook cast includes Severance’s Adam Scott; Star Wars animation actors Nika Futterman, Sam Witwer and Marc Thompson; Sean Kenin Elias-Reyes (Pokémon); January LaVoy (One Life to Live); John Pirkis (The Tick); and seasoned audiobook narrators Daniel Davis, Jonathan Davis, David Lee Huynh, Saskia Maarleveld, Euan Morton, Kristen Sieh and Shannon Tyo.

From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi releases from Random House Worlds on August 29. And if you enjoy Sim’s story, her latest novel The Midnight Kingdom also releases this month!
