The second season of Good Omens dropped on Amazon Prime Video a month back. It was immediately inhaled by fans eagerly awaiting the further adventures of Aziraphale and Crowley, and angel and a demon who formed a lasting friendship (and maybe more) despite the odds.

Season 2 was much more focused on the relationship between the pair then was season 1. Most of the episodes featured extended flashbacks to key points in their history. In the fourth episode, “The Hitchhiker,” we tag along with Aziraphale and Crowley in London during World War II, where they are tracked by a trio of Nazi zombies.

Maybe we should backtrack a second. This trio of Nazis die in a bombing and are immediately sent to hell, because obviously they are. A demon makes a deal with them that if they can get proof that Aziraphale and Crowley are collaborating together, they will be spared eternal damnation. They agree, they get proof, and then we don’t really hear from them again.

What happened to the Nazi zombies from Good Omens season 2?

So what happened to the Nazi zombies? Are they still out there turning other people into zombies? will they show up in season 3?

A fan asked these questions to Good Omens creator Neil Gaiman himself, and the author responded on his blog with a simple, tantalizing statement: “Wait and see.”

Gaiman, by the way, responds to tons of questions on his blog. If you ask him something he’s pretty likely to get back at you, so what do you have to lose?

In any case, it sounds like the zombie Nazis may return in Good Omens season 3…assuming that happens. The fate of the show is somewhat up in the air at the moment, although we’re hoping for the best.
