Sure, Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) would do a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child movie

Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) is open to the idea of returning for a movie adaptation of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the hugely successful stage play that catches up with Harry and Ginny’s kids as they start attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Wright talked about it while appeared on Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast Inside of You. Of course, she’s not privy to any insider information and has no idea if a movie version of the play is even being considered. But if the cast of the old Harry Potter movies are willing…

Bonnie Wright is down to play Ginny Weasley again

Wright said that “it would be pretty fun” to play Ginny again for a Cursed Child film. However, she said that “it wouldn’t be a massive role” because the play is centered on the new generation of kids rather than on the original characters from the Harry Potter story we all know.

“It’s really about the children, it’s not about our characters,” Wright said. “It would really be about these kids and the new generation at Hogwarts.” But a quick little cameo wouldn’t hurt, right?

While Bonnie Wright seems open to the idea, her costar Daniel Radcliffe, Harry Potter himself, feels differently. He’s previously said that he wouldn’t return to the role of Harry “right now,” but “never say never.” That’s something.

Chris Columbus, the director of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, is more om Wright’s wavelength. He would be ecstatic to direct a big-screen adaptation of the play. “A version of Cursed Child with Dan, Rupert and Emma at the right age, it’s cinematic bliss,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in 2021. “If you’re a film nerd or cinephile, it’s kind of like what J.J. [Abrams] did with Star Wars. Star Wars really started to be great again when J.J. made the film and we had all the original cast back. There’s no question if you’re a Star Wars fan, you were moved just seeing them on screen, seeing Harrison Ford as Han Solo again — and Chewy. It was very moving. I think that would be the same situation for Harry Potter fans. To able to actually see these adult actors now back in these roles? Oh, yeah. It would be amazingly fun to make that film — or two films.”

As a Potterhead, I am in 100% agreement with Mr. Columbus. Can we make it happen, please While we wait for news of a movie, we have the Max Harry Potter reboot series to look forward to!
