After seeing Daniel Radcliffe in his underwear, fans convinced he should play Wolverine

The fourth season of Miracle Workers wrapped up the the other day on TBS. Miracle Workers is an anthology sitcom where every season tells a new story with the same actors. The first season was set amidst the bureaucracy of heaven, with none other than Steve Buscemi as God. The second season was set during the Dark Ages, the third in the Old West, and the fourth in a Mad Max-style post-apocalyptic world where characters played by Daniel Radcliffe and Geraldine Viswanathan face off against killer robots and other enemies.

In the season finale, Radcliffe’s character Sid goes “feral” in order to save his community, stripping down to his tighty-whities and going ham on the robot menace. Because he’s a famous person who took off his clothes on camera, he immediately made headlines about his ripped physique, and fair enough:

Now there’s a man who enjoys his work.

The scene has revived an old talking point: that Daniel Radcliffe should play Wolverine whenever Disney gets around to casting someone new in the role, which we all know it will sooner or later.

This idea comes up again and again, and it does make some sense. Wolverine of the X-Men is a short, ripped hirsute guy with anger issues. Daniel Radcliffe is 5’5″. And he looks like that. What’s the hold up?

Plenty of folks have voiced their support for Radcliffe playing Wolverine on the website formerly known as Twitter, but who knows if it’ll happen? Since his days as Harry Potter have ended, Radcliffe has mostly more offbeat projects. Remember him playing a farting corpse in Swiss Army Man?
