On the latest episode of The Wheel of Time, “Damane,” we were introduced to a few new Aes Sedai sorceresses, mostly of the Brown Ajah. That included Yasicca Cellaech, played by Scottish actress Katie Leung.

Leung is best known for playing Harry Potter’s first girlfriend Cho Chang in the Harry Potter films, most notably Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, where they develop romantic feelings for each other.

Leung has done a lot of work beyond that, but once you go on a date with Harry Potter, it’s hard to get away from it. We wonder what she’ll get up to as Yasicca on The Wheel of Time.

We meet Yasicca in the White Tower, where she helps her fellow Brown sister Verin look up some information. The sisters of the Brown Ajah are mainly concerned with research and the gathering of ancient wisdom. They’re known for being dreamy and lost in thought. They administer the White Tower library.

Basically, the Brown Ajah are nerds, and with her enthusiasm for books and information, Yasicca seems to fit the bill. She’s not a hugely important character in The Wheel of Time books by Robert Jordan, but with an actress of Leung’s abilities playing the part, perhaps they can expand her role for the show.

Fun fact: according to The Wheel of Time blog The Thirteenth Depository, Jordan named Yasicca Cellaech after a real-life fan of his books, Jessica Celuch.
