Could Batman be in the second season of My Adventures With Superman?

My Adventures With Superman is a delightful new series on Max. It revolves around the iconic DC superhero as he comes to term with who he is as a person and romances Lois Lane. DC movies may not be able to get it together, but you can usually rely on DC animation to show you a good time.

A second season is already on the way. This is probably putting the cart before the horse, but some fans are getting antsy to bring in more DC characters, and by “more DC characters,” I mean Batman. When does Superman meet Batman? Pretty much all shows and movies about DC superheroes get there eventually, and Gotham City has been mentioned on My Adventures With Superman. It seems only a matter of time…

Speaking with the Superman Homepage, producer Josephine Campbell outlined whether this meetup could happen. “I mean, this is a Superman show,” she said. “We have brought in some other characters, like you said, Vicki [Vale is] from Gotham, there’s some mentions of Gotham. But, for us, the whole point of this is, it’s about Superman. It’s about Lois, and Jimmy, and the focus is always going to be on them.”

"We love Superman so much. I’m excited to see [Batman:] Caped Crusader when that comes out. Definitely, there’s still going to be some more mentions of Gotham, so keep an eye out. But, at the end of the day, Superman is our hero. Superman and Clark are who we love the most. And it’s who we’ve spent a couple of years writing now, so it’s what we love."

I’m glad the show is going to keep the focus on Superman — his name is in the title, after all — but I dunno, I suspect the lure of the crossover will eventually be too appealing to ignore.

Expect more “romantic tension” in the second season of My Adventures With Superman

One thing we can definitely expect more of in season 2 is romance between Lois and Clark. “I mean, we pitched this as a rom-com with punching and I feel like we’ve lived up to both parts of that pitch,” co-creator Josie Campbell told Comics Cube. “The joy of this series was us getting to write Lois and Clark falling in love and navigating their relationship. There’s still going to be ups and downs. It’s not all going to be smooth sailing but, it is fun to write a relationship in its early stages. It’s fun to write crushes.”

"The response has been wonderful. You see so many people reacting to it like, ‘Oh! Oh my goodness, Clark Kent.’ They’re also reacting to their relationship and liking that romantic tension."

My Adventures With Superman season 2 is due out in 2024.
