Loki season 2 gets to “go further and take bigger risks”
By Dan Selcke
Next week, Marvel will debut the second season of Loki, the show all about the titular God of Mischief getting into trouble at the TVA, the organization responsible for making sure the fabric of time doesn’t rip apart. This is the first time we’ve gotten a second season of a Disney+ Marvel show, so expectations are high.
Marvel has been drumming up hype ahead of the premiere, releasing lots of behind-the-scenes videos and featurettes. That includes this one where Loki star Tom Hiddleston, Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige and others talk about the history of Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and why they wanted to give him his own show:
“I’m excited to be back, back in the TVA, back with this amazing team,” Hiddleston says. “We get to go further and take bigger risks to create this endlessly fascinating box of tricks, and I feel excited and inspired about where we go next.” It’s also fun to see Hiddleston during his first audition way back when.
Chris Hemsworth stars in deleted scene from Loki season 1
In addition to season 2 on the horizon, the first season of Loki just came out on home video. It includes goodies like this deleted scene, where Loki and TVA agent Mobius M. Mobius look at one of Loki’s many failed attempts to seize power is Asgard:
Yep, that appears to be Chris Hemsworth voicing Thor after Loki has turned him into a frog. I imagine fans would have liked to see Hemsworth show up, even if just for a second in voiceover form, so it’s a shame this bit was cut.
Watch the blooper reel from Loki season 1
The season 1 home video set also includes a blooper reel. Have a watch:
Get ready to make some new Loki memories when the second season premieres on Disney+ on October 5.
